Today was the kickball game and boy was it a good one! It was a really good turnout and for that I thank everyone who came down to share this wonderful adventure day with me and glo. Thanks to the people who drove extra far to spend this day with us. From Thousand Oaks, to La Canada, to Cerritos, to Sunland, to Arcadia, and even those who came across the street like Kevin haha!
The game started at approximately 2:30, with a few people trickling in afterwards. But when it was all said and done we had 2 teams. Team 28, which consisted of team captain Gloria Hsu, and her squad Michael Hsu, Connie Tam, Jose Estrada, Rebecca Sun, Alex Yeh, Melanie Go, Maikhahn Vo, and bench player Hewie (not sure if i spelled his name right) and Jeff Lin (who was on the IR). My team was team DYLON, which consisted of myself as team captain, and my squad; Glenna Lin, Ellison Cheng, Roberto Nuno, Gloria Yeh, Kathryn Ricketts, and Kevin Cheung. How it ended up being 10 on 7 (including their bench players) is beyond me haha. I thought we made the teams evenly in terms of numbers, but now that i look at it, team 28 had 3 more players than we did. Then again there was no more than 7 players playing at a single time. So note to connie….your team actually was bigger!
At the end of the day Team 28 beat Team Dylon (unfortunately) by a final score of 5-2. I want to thank everyone who came. Thanks to all the players as well as thanks to Brian and Jenn, Donn and Erin, Nancy and Justin, Singer and June, and Hewie and his wife…ahh i didn’t get her name =( As much as I wanted win (and we had a good chance towards the end…if it wasn’t for an error which i will no longer speak of), it was really really fun getting together with friends and playing a game i haven’t played since the 3rd grade. It really was kickball for grownups. Thanks to Glo for putting this eventful day together.
And Happy Birthday to Glo!!! Thanks for everything you’ve done for me and all that you’ve helped me in.
After our kickball game, some of us went to dinner while the others had their own things to do. We went to Charlie’s Trio in Alhambra and enjoyed some delicious italian food. Thanks to Neh and Michelle for driving down to join us and Brian and Jenn for coming back after their evening plans. As it turns out, almost everyone didn’t finish their food and we had to take it all to-go. The restaurant did a good job in filling us up with their bread so that we wouldn’t have room for anything else.
Tomorrow is going to a disneyland trip!!!! Hopefully glenna and i can get tickets for world of color (as well as tickets for like 8 other people) hahaha. Then we’ll enjoy a HOT day with pictures, and rides, and food! Then we have reservations at ESPN zone where we plan on meeting up with Glo and Mike to watch the Colts take on the Giants. GO INDY!!!! Then at night if all goes well, a nice World of Color showing with 10 of our closest friends!
I think that’s all for now!
Another birthday present update: Thanks to Maikhahn, Jeff, Glo and Mike for all pitching in and getting me floor mats for my Honda Fit. Alexis was tired of me bringing in dirt and what not into her everytime i stepped foot in my car. So now i can easily remove all that dirt by cleaning my floor mat. Maikhahn and Jeff had to do some extensive research on my honda fit mats because the interior for a fit is different from other cars, so they can’t just buy floor mats from like target or anything. They had to get it from Honda and they went through all that trouble and i thank them for that.
Thanks for reading everyone! and remember, if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a DODGEBALL!!! but why dodge a dodgeball when you can get a group of friends together and play KICKBALL!!!! Congrats to team 28 again for a great win!!
