A Decade of Music

Posted: January 13, 2012 in Uncategorized

As we say goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012, I must continue one of the consistencies of my life, music! A DECADE OF MUSIC! My 2011 countdown will officially mark the 10th annual DJDylon’s countdown. It all started back in 2001 when (at the age of 15) I decided to countdown my favorite songs of the year. I decided to stick to songs that were only played on the radio because if I left it open to albums and underground stuff, then most likely it would consists of songs that no one has heard. I did it in 2001, then in 2002 then it just picked up from there. Apparently there are people out there who look forward to my list and that makes me happy. So I can’t leave them dry. But before we get down to it, let’s recap the other top 10′s of 2011!!

MOVIES!!!
This lists is definitely subject to opinion. I KNOW there are better movies out there, but it’s hard to rank movies you have never seen. In 2011 I saw a total of 25 movies (that were released in 2011). So here are my top 10 from that list of 25 movies.

ALBUMS
If you know me, you’ll know that I’d rather purchase an actual CD than download it on itunes. I have to admit I have cut down on my CD purchasing’s in the last few years, but the year 2011 still offered some amazing music. So here are my top 10 albums of 2011

MUSIC!!!

Because this will mark my 10th annual countdown, I found it necessary for me to update everyone on the last 10 years. Don’t worry, I’m not going to countdown all hundred songs from each year. But I am going to list the top 10 songs from the last 10 years.

ENJOY!!!!!

nolifewithoutmusic

It’s been awhile since i last blogged so i have much to talk about. ENJOY

The retreat was about a week and a half ago and even though i only stayed half the time, i really enjoyed myself. It’s been 8 years since i graduated from high school, and id say this was my 3rd or 4th youth retreat. Most of the time ive helped out on the worship team but there was something different about this year. Maybe its that ive been playing (bass) longer, but for some reason this one was special. There’s something about playing bass and worshiping that does it for me. I dont know why, but i get so much out of the worship when im playing along with it. It also helps playing with wonderful musicians, and i know God doesn’t care how the music sounds as long as people are worshiping with all their hearts. But for me playing excellent music and worship go well together. It gives me the freedom to dance and ROCK OUT! ROCK FOR JESUS!!!

Glenna, Angeline and I left Sunday afternoon and the roads were still icy. To make a long story short, it took us alot longer to leave than we had hoped. At one point, we put on snow chains so that we could leave the campsite, and when we were trying to take them off, they got tangled in my front right wheel. When i stopped and tried undoing the chain, i noticed that the tire was over the chain, so i asked Glenna to reverse a little. Well that wasn’t a smart move cause then the chain got caught in the tire spoke.

We were about 2 miles from the campsite so we couldn’t really go back and ask for help cause…well i couldn’t drive my car anymore. To be honest i was freaking out!!! But im glad i had 2 ladies there with me to calm me down =D. Thanks to glenna and angeline for keeping their composure and keeping me calm. Angeline had the great idea to jack my car up and loosen the chain. They were both really supportive and once i got my car up, i got the chain OUT!!! Praise God! and thanks ladies for being so cool =D i couldn’t have done it without you two

NOW FOR BIRTHDAYS!!!

Friday was my buddy Jose’s birthday. Saying jose is my buddy is an understatement. I can say with my head held high that Jose Estrada is my best friend! I’ve known this guy since the 2nd grade, and even though we drifted apart in the beginning of high school, i’d say since junior year of high school till now we’ve been inseparable. If there’s one guy i can turn to just to talk it’s definately him and i thank him for that. Who said two guys can’t talk like girls?? You obviously haven’t seen us =D We talk sports, we talk girls, we talk movies, we talk music, we talk school, we talk realistic careers and we talk unrealistic careers =D If we both could have our unrealistic careers, we’d both be professional basketball players…me playing for the lakers and him for the bulls. The bad side of him (which is also a great side of him) is that he’s a Chicago fan. So it makes watching sports and rooting for our teams alot more fun. Dodgers vs cubs, lakers vs bulls, bears vs…any team i root for. Anyways, this is just a shout out to the bestest friend a guy can ask for (awww how gay of me to say that huh?) Happy birthday to you buddy and i wish you the best of luck in the future. And remember…when you finally do become a successful OT, i would love to be your Alfred

Glenna and i are pretending he’s a rap artist =D

SECOND BIRTHDAY!!

Today is my DAD’s BIRTHDAY!! happy birthday DAD!!! We celebrated it on sunday as a huge family…the 5 of us, plus brother in law, future brother in law, and girlfriend =D. The 8 of us have great dinners together and i really enjoy the time we spend with each other. Growing up it was just dad mom desiree melanie and myself, but im so happy to see that as we get older, others come into my life and i welcome them all with open arms. Im really glad we get to enjoy these family gatherings along with claudell, george, and glenna =D.

I bought one of those day by day calenders that you put on your desk and rip off pages as the days go by…you know? And since it was only $1 (since i bought it in february) i decided to get one that has ‘The Office’ quotes everyday. For those who watch ‘the office’ im sure you’ll enjoy these as i have. So i’ll try to include ‘the office’ quote of the day with each of my blogs.

OFFICE quote for March 1
Michael: I can’t stop myself from kissing her
Kevin: Yeah. Now you know how I feel sitting next to those M&Ms all day
Andy: Why don’t you just move the M&Ms?
Kevin: Why don’t you just shut up?

TOP 15 LAKERS OF MY TIME

15: Rick Fox
14: Sedale Threatt
13: Shannon Brown
12: Cedric Ceballos

NUMBER 11: ANDREW BYNUM

Some may ask why i put bynum so low on the list. Alot of fans have faith in bynum that he’s the future of the team. Don’t get me wrong, i think he’s a great player for his size, but he just gets injured too much. I know he has Kareem to train him, which in return should make bynum great! Let me just put it this way, if we keep bynum for the future i’ll accept it and be happy with it. But i just want to be the first to say that when the Lakers thought of Bynum for Kidd, i said GO FOR IT! when they thought of Bynum for Bosh i said GO FOR IT! and when they thought of Bynum for Anthony i said GO FOR IT NOW!!! Bynum may be the future of the team, but im selfish, i want the future right now! Nevertheless, bynum still makes my cut of 15 greatest lakers of my time

5 full seasons with Lakers (currently playing his 6th season with the team)
(as of 3/1/11) 314 games played with the Lakers
(as of 3/1/11) 3,271 points

The retreat is tomorrow and it’s supposed to SNOW?!?! are you kidding me? I wear jeans and a tshirt every day not to mention i wear flip flops or vans. Um…i don’t think i have clothes for the retreat. Looks like ill be wearing a jacket over my sweater over my cardigan over my tshirt. Looks like ill be wearing 3 layers of shoes and hopefully my adidas will do the work =/ I remember when i was in high school and it would snow at a youth retreat, we would all have the times of our lives. Well i’m 25 now, and when it snows at this youth retreat i think im going to stay inside where its nice and warm =D

I played basketball at church today and boy was it fun! They play every thursday night and i dont know why i dont go more often. Maybe i like to bless them with my presence every other month. So when i do show up they’re like WOW dillon’s here and they start to believe that i’m actually good when im really not =D. Ok my secret is out

I have found myself another part time under the table job. I watch WORTHY!! Des and Claudell’s dog =D. Worthy is just the cutest, most adorable smallest little thing. I watch him every tuesday and thursday morning before i go to the coffee shop. And today worthy got to enjoy the company of glenna =D. Once she sat down, he strolled on over to her and sat in her lap, then just chilled. It was adorable =D Auntie Na is here to play with you worthy

On Valentines day Glenna and i decided to have a chill dinner and go out for chinese food =D. You can’t go wrong with chinese food. It’s cheap, there’s no wait, and its delicious =D. I also decided to get her an IPOD touch. She’s been wanting one for the longest time now and i thought it was time she got one. I personally would have liked the IPAD more, but i’m glad she wanted the touch cause that saved me a few hundred dollars =D. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want the IPAD though, i mean its basically a bigger itouch. Bigger is better right? Glenna has never been a fan of the flowers and chocolate, which is why after 3 years of dating, i finally decided to go with the norm and get her flowers and chocolate for valentines day. I decided to hide the itouch in the box of chocolates with the hope that she would be like ‘oh chocolates’ and NOT open the box! I got the ‘oh chocolate’ response from her, but she decided to open the box because she thought I had a piece already! She would think i would eat her chocolate first

Am i the ONLY person who finds this funny?!?! I heard about this on Kevin and Bean and decided to watch it myself. I cracked up the first time, and even after seeing it 4 times i still laugh. I showed Melanie and she didn’t think anything of it. Then i showed glenna and she just smiled. Maybe its just my humor, but i still think this is hilarious. Watch for yourself

I just watched it for the fifth time as i was uploading it…and i still laughed! somethings wrong with me

David Frere and i were discussing a possibility of an All bookstore/cbb staff poker night. Man wouldn’t that be fun? hopefully we can make it happen!

OKAY time to continue my countdown

NUMBER 12: CEDRIC CEBALLOS

144 games
3,003 points
20.3 ppg
Cedric averaged 20 points a game in his laker career and i placed him at 12?? Maybe its because he only played 2 full seasons with the lakers. I do wish he wore purple and gold more, but it is what it is. Unfortunate for him because he played his best basketball in purple and gold

Breed Lovers Guide

I listen to KROQ’s Kevin and Bean show almost every morning. The show goes on from 5am – 10am and although i would love to listen to the entire show every morning, i don’t spend 5 hours in my car. I usually catch the 6:45 – 7:15 segment, or the 8 – 8:30 segment, it all depends on the day. This morning as i was driving to des’s place to watch worthy for the morning, i heard kevin making fun of bean like he always does. He said that bean will purposely go out of his way to spend ‘less’ money when purchasing a cd. They gave an example and i thought to myself…that’s what i do!!! Kevin then went to point out that you really don’t save time or money because of what you spend on gas and it’s soooo true =(. EXAMPLE. I’m a HUGE Emery fan and when their last cd came out last year, Target was selling it for $9.99 while best buy was selling it for $7.99. What should i do? what would anyone do right? they would go to best buy to save the $2. Well i decided to drive past the Target in Eagle Rock, go to the best buy in glendale only to see that they didn’t carry it. But since i love emery…i needed it! and i needed it that day. SO i went to the burbank best buy and found it!!! WOOO $7.99 baby!!! Then i drove back home and enjoyed myself some emery. Well…for $9.99 i could have driven 2 miles, and had it in 5 minutes. Instead i drove 7 miles to the atwater village best buy, then another 9 miles to the burbank best buy, only to drive back home. A trip that cost me 22 miles round trip and 40 minutes of my day. THANKS KEVIN FOR POINTING THAT OUT!!!!!

P.S. i still love Emery….and i’ll probably still listen to kevin and bean in the morning

The Grammys is this Sunday and im excited to see performances and see who wins the best new artist of the year. This years nominees are: Drake, Justin Bieber, Esperanza Spalding, Florence and the Machines, and Mumford and Sons. If you’ve been reading my previous post, i think you would guess who i would want to win…well you’re WRONG!!!! As much as i have been listening to mumford and sons these last 2 weeks, I don’t know if i’d really consider them the best new artist of 2010 just because i really got into them in 2011. So before we get into who i think was the best new artist of 2010, lets take a look at the nominees

DRAKE – This guy put out 1…ONE mix tape online and within days was an internet sensation! I mean think about it, what artist out there HASN’T featured drake on one of their tracks?

JUSTIN BIEBER – If i was 16 years old i would be madly in love with JB and his music. UM….ok i’ll admit it, i’m 25 and i AM MADLY IN LOVE with JB and his music! I hate the kid so much…that i LOVE HIM! Why?!?!? WHY!?!?!? why is his music so catchy, why is his voice so soothing….and why can’t i get enough of him!??!? OK but seriously, who doesn’t like JUSTIN BIEBER??

ESPERANZA SPALDING – Lets get real…i don’t listen to jazz. But if i did listen to jazz i can see why everyone is talking about her. She picked up her first violin at the age of 5, her first stand up bass at the age of 15, attended CAL berkley school of arts at the age of 16, and by the age of 20 was a music professor at the school. DAAAANG!!! it took her 4 years from going from student to professor. Child prodigy no doubt.

FLORENCE AND THE MACHINES – I’ve only heard one song from florence and the machine, but i gotta say it is one of the MOST FUN songs you can ever listen to. Not to mention it got #5 on DJdylons top 100 of 2010. She was featured in an interview with kevin and bean one morning and she sounds like the most humble, caring, loving person out there. All i know is i would love to sit down and have a cup of tea with her =D Coming from the UK, Florence and the Machines!

MUMFORD AND SONS – Read my last 2 posts and i’ll explain why i LOVE these guys! I think glenna is a little tired of hearing them when she’s sitting in my car, but she might have to deal with more and more of them. The other day Melanie was with me and i tried letting her listen to them as well, she gave me this glare of death…kinda like why would you ever let me hear this. Nonetheless, i still love them

And my pick for BEST NEW ARTIST of 2010……DRUM ROLL……

DRAKE

See the world upside down

Alright it’s been a busy few days…so here we go

Friday night a bunch of us went out to celebrate two important events. ellisons 25th birthday and kims going away to taiwan party!! We met up at Gaam in LA where we enjoyed drinks, onion rings and cheesecorn….YUP cheese corn! kim was very excited about the cheese corn.

After dinner and drinks we went to DING DONG DONG!!! what is ding dong dong you ask??? Karaoke baby!!! Oh it was a blast!! Great job singing everyone. glenna, kim, amanda, ellen, allyson, lisa, richard, justin, peter, bryan and ellison. you guys are all american idols in my mind! We spent a good 3 hours singing our hearts out. I don’t think i got home until 6AM!!! man i felt like i was 19 again =D

Sunday was superbowl XLV. Thanks to erin and donn for hosting a nice super bowl party. Im glad there were no party poopers at the party…everyone there was rooting for the packers, or at least pretending to root for the packers. Congrats on winning donn.

Im an uncle!!! or at least des calls me uncle dillon. I would like to introduce everyone to the newest member for the go family. Claudel and des got a new dog! It’s a french bulldog. Everyone say hello to Worthy.

Tonight Gloria, Glenna, Mike and i decided to represent MAN and conquer! We went to El Tepeyac in LA and decided to try the ‘Manuel Special.’ It’s a 5 pound burrito that was featured on an episode of Man VS. Food. Now of course on the episode the host Adam Richman finished the burrito on his own, but we decided that we’re all not that crazy. So we decided to split the burrito 4 ways and we finished it in like 15 minutes. NO LIE!!! Man vs Food….and MAN WON! Oh and by the way, the burrito was the length of my forearm!

Its been almost a week now since i’ve bought the Mumford and Sons album and its pretty much all ive been listening to. I really like their sound and even though its not what i normally listen to, i can’t get enough of it. Glenna thinks they sound country, but she hasn’t really listened to them, and if she did she would realize they don’t really sound like country. Throughout this week Glenna has been butching their name. I’ve heard her call them ‘mumbum and gums’, ‘mulloland drive’, ‘my hump my hump’, ‘mumgum and dum’ etc etc. The other day i really wanted her to get their name right, but she wouldn’t say it and kept butchering it. So guess what i decided to do, i said if you get their name correctly, i’ll buy you jamba juice. I did this with the hope that she would want to learn their name. Well the joke was on me, because once i made her the offer, she yelled out “MUMFORD AND SONS” I guess she does pay attention to the things i like =D

I became a Los Angeles Lakers fan during the 94-95 season. That means ive been a devoted follower for the last 17 years. So ive decided to compile a list of MY favorite 15 lakers since 1994. Each post i will countdown from 15 all the way down to number 1 (Im pretty sure #1 will be of no surprise to anyone). Just as a warning, since i became a laker fan in 1994, don’t expect to see the likes of Magic Johnson (even though he played for them in 1996) or jerry west, michael cooper, kareem abdul jabar, byron scott, james worthy or wilt chamberlan. Although i’m pretty sure they were all GREAT, i never had to pleasure to watch them play (except for magic and even that was only for 1 season). So this list will comprise of those i had the honor to follow. One more note, i’ve decided to only include Lakers who were on the team for more than one season. So even though i would have loved to put hall of fame players like Gary Payton, Karl Malone and Dennis Rodman, because they only played one season with the lakers, they couldn’t make the cut. So here we go

15 Greatest Lakers of MY time

15: Rick Fox

NUMBER 14:

SEDALE THREATT
5 seasons with Lakers (91-92 – 95-96)
386 games
4594 points
11.9 ppg
.487 fg%

Lets just say when Magic left the Lakers, Sedale was their go to guy. 5 seasons with the lakers and he shot just under 50% from the field. Now that’s just impressive!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!

as a new years resolution….

Ive decided to grow out my hair (jk) but apparently i need to start styling it so that it shapes in a certain form. Suggestions anybody? Ethan Hawke? Zac Efron? Joe Jonas? Keith Urban? Josh Holloway?

Thats right…i posted pictures of HOT guys on my blog and im NOT ashamed of it!

Ive been working at the cafe for 4 months now and although i feel like i should be a pro at latte art, all i can do is a flower that sometimes looks like the man eating plant from super mario, a rosetta that sometimes looks like the middle finger, and a heart that most of the times looks like someone’s behind. I spent awhile on youtube today looking at latte art video’s thinking to myself, “this looks soooo easy.” But once i stand behind that espresso machine and try to perfect the art, other things come out =/ After 4 months at the cafe, one thing i have learned and would like to apply to my art, is that it looks so much cooler to do art while you pour than actually drawing things manually (not to mention it’s so much quicker). But as i kept watching latte art video’s, i realized that alot of barista’s DO draw using a tool. That kind of made me sad that in order to make some of the most beautiful latte art, you actually need to take your time and draw. Why can’t it be as simple as a pour? Im not sure how long i’ll be staying at the cafe, but i would like to perfect the art. Definately something i will be working on, even if it means bringing my own milk =D

It was your heart on the line

Posted: February 2, 2011 in Uncategorized

im going to try this blogging thing again. Actually, i think im going to use this as my little countdown list and ill do my best in updating you with what’s happening.

so here we go

On Martin Luther King day i was rear-ended while being stuck in traffic. I once had a dream just like King, and it wasn’t to be rear-ended. Poor Alexis =( My lift gate had a dent in it, and the bumper was alittle messed up. Honestly the damage didn’t look too bad, but because the lift gate was damaged, they had to replace the entire thing. The auto shop estimated the total damage to be about $1900! WOW!!! Fortunately for me the insurance company covered it all. My car was in the shop for 12 days and during those 12 days i got to try 3 different rent a cars. I drove a 2010 Chevy HHR for a day, a 2009 Dodge Caliber for 8 days and a 2010 Hyundai Elantra for the last 3. Probably not the best 3 choices, but if i had to pick a favorite i would have to go with the dodge caliber…it felt pretty buff for its size. Finally on monday i got alexis back, and believe me it was nice to drive her again. She has a brand new lift gate, brand new bumper and they washed her! Glad to be back

I’ve decided to do a couple of countdowns starting in my next few posts. If you have any opinions on what i should countdown, feel free to let me know and i’ll start my list. But here’s what i plan on doing so far

All of these are my own opinions
Top 15 Lakers since the 95-96 season (the year i became a Lakers fan)
Top 25 Movies of my time
Top 10 Sitcoms of my time
Top 20 Television Series of my time
20 Greatest Bands of my time

For those who know me and know what kind of music i listen to, you know i like my hard rock, metal, screamo stuff…with the hip hop and rap on the side. But who would have guessed that i would like slow…folky stuff…with a BANJO?!?!? There’s a group called ‘Mumford and Sons’ and although they’ve been around since 2007, I first heard of them sometime last year. I didn’t start listening to their music though till this week and i’ve fallen in love. I’ve fallen in love with the banjo….the standup bass, and the folky sound. SO SAD…yet SO GOOD!!!

So for those who don’t know yet, please meet Mumford and Sons
THE CAVE

Someone left a classic commented on the youtube video. It read
“my girlfriend said she didn’t like mumford and sons. I’m single now”

Now on a side note, here are my favorite 10 movies of 2010. I have always said my movie list is bias, because I only base it on the movies that I saw last year. There were plenty of ‘good’ or ‘great’ movies that are oscar worthy, however if I didn’t see it, it can’t qualify. So I apologize if you don’t see ‘black swan’ or ‘social network’ or ’127 hours’ on my list. Having said that, here is my list

dylon’s TOP 10 MOVIES of 2010

10.) The Expendables – This movie didnt’ have the best story line…actually the story line sucked. Did i mention the acting wasn’t that great either? but WHO CARES?!?!? Have you seen who’s in this movie? This is a MAN’s movie! There is soooo much ASS kicking, gun SHOOTING, building BLOWING and BULDGING biceps in this movie, that i had to at least give it the ’10′ spot.

09.) The Karate Kid – Having been around the original karate kid, i didn’t really think i would enjoy the remake. It was however a very well made remake…maybe because it wasn’t really ‘re-made.’ It had it’s own story line which was nice. And it’s nice that the karate kid was taught…’kung fu’ (“I’ll teach you real kung fu” -Jackie Chan)

08.) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World – This movie was weird…strange…but awesome! I think everyone should see this movie just because it’s so different. The movie is based on a graphic novel, and like ‘sim city’ when you’re watching it, it’s like you’re watching a live comic book. Sounds like crap?? take a look and i’m pretty sure you’ll appreciate it.

07.) Despicable Me – Glenna and i were minions for halloween…enough said =D

06.) Kick Ass – This is not your typical comic book movie. Costumes? Check! Bad Guys? Check! Trying to win the girl? Check! BLOOD??? and lots of it??? CHECK! I LOVED this movie because it was a comic book movie with blood and gore! It definately met up to it’s rated R ratings. Plus Hit Girl kicks ASS

05.) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 – This was only part 1??? I can’t wait till part 2!!!! It’ll be a beautiful end to a beautiful series

04.) Shutter Island – Im not a big fan of ‘scary’ movies. So good thing this movie wasn’t scary =D. It was a great suspenseful movie that had you guessing till the end. I actually didn’t see it coming, and i didn’t really know what to expect. I think that’s the best part! Then after seeing the end, i watched it again and it all made sense.

03.) Toy Story 3 – What an end to an amazing trilogy. Pixars Toy Story started it all in computer animation…and 15 years later they still got it! This movie was so touching (both the girls next to me were crying) that it made me tear…excellent film!

02.) The Town – I really wanted to see this movie in theatres and unfortunately never got the chance. But great things come to those who wait right? Well this movie was GREAT and i waited!!! It was one of those movies where you actually root for the bad guys. From the beginning to the end…that’s exactly who i rooted for. Never the po-po

01.) Inception – I believe this is a no-brainer!!! I am putting this movie up on my list, along with the likes of Avatar, The Rock, Independence Day, The Last Samurai and Saving Private Ryan. I saw inception once in theatres…and i believe 4 times on blu ray till this day. Christopher Nolan has made a masterpiece!

Thanks for viewing everyone!

For all i know…may come to an end

On Sunday Glenna and I spent the day at disneyland =D. It was such a chill day because even though we got there in the morning, we spent more of our time lounging around and just relaxing. We went on a total of 2 rides and the rest of the time we had dessert, and sat at the DCA hotel by the fireplace.

My main intention to going to disneyland that day was so that glenna and i could possibly eat at the ESPN zone and watch sunday night football. Colts vs Giants!!!! We joked around because what was first suppose to be date day, because GROUP day!!! Everyone else came, which was COMPLETELY fine because it was fun hanging out with everyone. We ended up having dinner at ESPN zone with Mike, Glo, Mel and George. The 6 of us had a good time hanging out while watching the game and cheering not only for our team (the colts) but for our individual players. It was so much fun because Melanie and George has Eli Manning. Glenna has Peyton Manning and Hakeem Nicks, Mike has Reggie Wayne, I have Joseph Addai, Austin Collie, and Gloria has Dallas Clark and Ahmad Bradshaw. So you can imagine all the cheering that was going on. When Peyton would pass to Clark, glenna and glo cheered. When he would hand off to addai I cheered, when he would pass to wayne mike cheered. Then all of a sudden the first score of the game was a rushing touchdown by the second string RB donald brown…NO ONE CHEERED!!!!

After dinner we met up with the rest of the gang. Brian, Jenn, Alex, Groria, Connie and Justin. Some of us watched World of Color, others got dessert, while others learned out to draw disney characters. After all of that we all got together to ride the haunted mansion…thanks to connie and her bum knee because we didn’t have to wait in line. But at the same time sorry that you injured your knee during our kickball game.

The rest of this week has been really chill so far. I’ve decided to stay home alot whenever i have nothing planned, because i’ve realized that if i stay home, i don’t spend money =D. I won’t be working as much this next couple of months so i won’t have much money to spend for myself, at least not as much as i want to buy things. So by staying home…i won’t go out and buy ‘robin hood’ or ‘greys anatomy season 6′ or ‘modern family’ but next week i WILL buy iron man 2.

The reason i labeled this blog ‘for all i know…may come to an end’ is because….well all i do know may come to an end. I think i might be taking a break from in n out, 8 and a half years and that’s all i know how to do. I most certainly will write a seperate blog about in n out, but for now, i think i desperately need a break from that place.

I just had boiling crab with a couple of relatives from the mainland. Tonights dinner will mark the 3rd time ive had boiling crab in less than a month. I don’t think thats good for my health =/

Connie told me that she just started watching 24 and she really got into it. The other day we were talking about it, and although ive seen the first 7 seasons, talking about 24 got me really into it again. So i decided to watch season 2 again and it’s sooo good!!! even though i know what’s going to happen, its nice watching it again and it reminds me how great of a show 24 really is. Season 2 of 24 reminds me of the time Ellison, Alex and i busted a season 2 marathon. We started around 10PM and ended around 8PM the next day. Of course Alex slept through about 7 episodes. Ellison and i busted the entire season in less than a day…truly an epic moment in our lives. I miss marathons, I’ve done 1 24 marathon, and 3 LOST marathons and i would love to do another sometime

Who’s down for an all day marathon?!?!?

Alexis has just surpassed 1500 miles this week…all in less than a month…poor baby!

Today was the kickball game and boy was it a good one! It was a really good turnout and for that I thank everyone who came down to share this wonderful adventure day with me and glo. Thanks to the people who drove extra far to spend this day with us. From Thousand Oaks, to La Canada, to Cerritos, to Sunland, to Arcadia, and even those who came across the street like Kevin haha!

The game started at approximately 2:30, with a few people trickling in afterwards. But when it was all said and done we had 2 teams. Team 28, which consisted of team captain Gloria Hsu, and her squad Michael Hsu, Connie Tam, Jose Estrada, Rebecca Sun, Alex Yeh, Melanie Go, Maikhahn Vo, and bench player Hewie (not sure if i spelled his name right) and Jeff Lin (who was on the IR). My team was team DYLON, which consisted of myself as team captain, and my squad; Glenna Lin, Ellison Cheng, Roberto Nuno, Gloria Yeh, Kathryn Ricketts, and Kevin Cheung. How it ended up being 10 on 7 (including their bench players) is beyond me haha. I thought we made the teams evenly in terms of numbers, but now that i look at it, team 28 had 3 more players than we did. Then again there was no more than 7 players playing at a single time. So note to connie….your team actually was bigger!

At the end of the day Team 28 beat Team Dylon (unfortunately) by a final score of 5-2. I want to thank everyone who came. Thanks to all the players as well as thanks to Brian and Jenn, Donn and Erin, Nancy and Justin, Singer and June, and Hewie and his wife…ahh i didn’t get her name =( As much as I wanted win (and we had a good chance towards the end…if it wasn’t for an error which i will no longer speak of), it was really really fun getting together with friends and playing a game i haven’t played since the 3rd grade. It really was kickball for grownups. Thanks to Glo for putting this eventful day together.

And Happy Birthday to Glo!!! Thanks for everything you’ve done for me and all that you’ve helped me in.

After our kickball game, some of us went to dinner while the others had their own things to do. We went to Charlie’s Trio in Alhambra and enjoyed some delicious italian food. Thanks to Neh and Michelle for driving down to join us and Brian and Jenn for coming back after their evening plans. As it turns out, almost everyone didn’t finish their food and we had to take it all to-go. The restaurant did a good job in filling us up with their bread so that we wouldn’t have room for anything else.

Tomorrow is going to a disneyland trip!!!! Hopefully glenna and i can get tickets for world of color (as well as tickets for like 8 other people) hahaha. Then we’ll enjoy a HOT day with pictures, and rides, and food! Then we have reservations at ESPN zone where we plan on meeting up with Glo and Mike to watch the Colts take on the Giants. GO INDY!!!! Then at night if all goes well, a nice World of Color showing with 10 of our closest friends!

I think that’s all for now!

Another birthday present update: Thanks to Maikhahn, Jeff, Glo and Mike for all pitching in and getting me floor mats for my Honda Fit. Alexis was tired of me bringing in dirt and what not into her everytime i stepped foot in my car. So now i can easily remove all that dirt by cleaning my floor mat. Maikhahn and Jeff had to do some extensive research on my honda fit mats because the interior for a fit is different from other cars, so they can’t just buy floor mats from like target or anything. They had to get it from Honda and they went through all that trouble and i thank them for that.

Thanks for reading everyone! and remember, if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a DODGEBALL!!! but why dodge a dodgeball when you can get a group of friends together and play KICKBALL!!!! Congrats to team 28 again for a great win!!
